Conversational English: Developing great communication skills.
In Blacksburg, many students and scholars arrive at Virginia Tech proficient in the skills of reading and writing English. Being able to communicate verbally, however, remains a challenge. International Students, Inc. offers English Conversation Groups to assist internationals in becoming comfortable in one-on-one or group conversations.
Evening Conversation Group: Bob and Carole Dellinger facilitate a conversation group which meets on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30 PM. The class is a program of the Blacksburg Library and meets in the community room there. They talk about the Blacksburg area and information that can enrich the lives of international students, visiting scholars and spouses. Women's English Conversation Group: This class for women only, led by Sandra Jackson and Lee Alba, will be held weekly at Northstar Church on Tuesdays at 10:30 AM, as the new Spring Semester gets underway.
